SEO Associate

As an SEO associate at The Block, you will assist our editorial team in following search engine best practices to ensure that The Block’s high-quality, original journalism and research reaches the widest possible audience through search.

Responsibilities

• Rewriting article titles to conform to SEO best practices.
• Optimize URL basenames to best summarize article contents.
• Categorize stories with appropriate tags.
• Cleanup tags through deduping and migration.
• Adding metadata (excerpts, descriptions, alternative titles) to articles.
• Create links to previously published related articles.
• Use tools like Yoast SEO, ahrefs, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console to evaluate performance and determine priorities.

Looking for contractors who have

• Worked in an editorial capacity previously.
• Some WordPress and/or SEO experience.
• Some knowledge of financial and/or technology industries.
• Authorized to work within the United States of America.
• Provide your own equipment and internet connection.

This part-time, contract position. We will provide you with training and assign you regular work. We expect you to keep normal working hours, 9AM to 6PM EST, Monday through Friday, and, as the position is remote, for you to furnish your own equipment and a workspace with a reliable internet connection.
