In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, NEAR closed a fundraising round of $21.6M, led by a16z. NEAR raised an additional $30M during a token sale in August.

We need someone who can help us develop and ship industry-leading tools.

Essential

• 3+ years in a software engineer role
• The ability to solve all sorts of frontend engineering tasks

Ideal

• Deep understanding of React (Next.js) practices (such as state management solutions, server-side rendering)
• Fluency in TypeScript (or relevant experience with statically-typed languages)
• Experience with WAMP-proto (or WebSocket / pub-sub APIs)
• Basic knowledge of SQL
• Community focus and open-source mindset
• Ability to work across multiple time zones with remote colleagues
• Ability to adapt to last-minute asks and changing timelines and priorities with flexibility and good humor
• Curiosity about the Open Web and how it can improve the world

What You'll Do

• Design and develop frontend projects like NEAR Explorer
• Review code, enforce quality, and guide technical direction
• Work with open source community by collaborating with external contributors on our codebase, creating and participating in events, facilitating information exchange between our community and other open source communities
• Participating in the on-call rotation
