Hi all, I have just watched Aparna Jue and Tim's update, it was the last thing I wanted to check out before wishing you all, all the best and good luck. Many of you know me for my critical views on IOHK's methods and approach, some of you agree some strongly don't, which is absolutely a normal thing. Many of us were waiting for the Byron release today, which did not happen of course, it will happen within the next few weeks/month - again, good enough for most of you. According to most of the replies I have gotten on the last posts/comment replies, I am a troll, some say an undercover one. The reality is, I didn't get in three months ago, not a year ago, it was right at the moment ADA became available on Bittrex and yes I have witnessed every up and down since, I have seen enough to afford to make own conclusions and to criticize where needed. I will continue to hold, it would be silly to sell now, and I do wish all the best to the entire community but I guess getting emotionally involved with your investments was always a bad move so I will leave it with you. The last question I will ask you before I leave and I want you to be as honest as possible when answering: It is nearly mid 2020, according to previous development speed and performance, how much of the roadmap and close to initial scope do you think IOHK will manage to get done by the end of 2020? https://twitter.com/Naxal_Urban/status/1017783149630111745/photo/1 [link] [comments] via The home of Cardano https://ift.tt/2JqV18I What do you think about Exchange platforms running Cardano (ada) pools in Mainnet? [link] [comments] via The home of Cardano https://ift.tt/3bGQzPj Hi - Genzod here, Please note, I'm going to play devil's advocate. Might get ugly, but hear me out. So... usually I'm all for all of the crazy updates - just look at my post from last week. I mean, this project has so much going on from proven papers, scientific research, innovative ideas, partnerships / MOUs, theories, high-level development, etc etc.. It's a very ambitious and wide-spreading project. However, I feel like over the next 1-2 months we're in game mode! Honestly, and with all due respect, the only thing I want to hear from the team in deep detail is Shelley, and anything related to it. Shelley, Shelley, Shelley. We are so close, and have waited for this moment for some time.. Therefore, I feel like talking about Basho, Voltaire, etc should take a temporary backseat to allow the team & the community to live in this moment. I know the team IS focusing heavily on getting Shelley out the door, but I do think during these heads-down moments, talking about anything else can appear scattered, wandering, or distracting at times. Now, I know these other components need to be planned, strategized, and developed behind the scenes, but I'm not sure if going into deep detail with the community is the best idea for right now. I guess I compare it to being in the 4th quarter of the Superbowl, down 7 points, and the coach talking about which players he wants for next year and the new plays they're going to draw up during the off-season. That's all good coach, but can we focus on winning this game first? Don't get me wrong.. I LOVE the transparency behind Cardano - that'll never change! I just want the transparency to be strategic, timely, and focused. Sometimes when people talk about big ideas and plans.. it detracts from the immediate goal(s) and can overwhelm everyone involved. These shiny objects and far-off dreams can be paralyzing within themselves if not modularized and / or tamed at the right time. I know IOHK, The CF, & Emurgo have a full grasp of everything, but I mainly mean the strategy of communication during the 4th quarter of the Superbowl. I'm currently cheering for Shelley.. and the scoreboard says "TBD". As a fan, I can't really dive in or enjoy a conversation about Goguen, Voltaire and Basho until THIS extended game has been won, officially. Feel me? Thoughts? [link] [comments] via The home of Cardano https://ift.tt/3az1WIO Hi, Cardano community, I am big fan of cardano since Charles's cardano whiteboards, I believe in cryptocurrency industry, and it will be ultimate democracy tool for people. I believe in cardano because the revolution is led by people write down problems on a whiteboard and try to solve them everyday, not by promoters and lambo dreamers. I am a female developer from NY, and I have a pool ticker SONG. Please consider delegate to support. [link] [comments] via The home of Cardano https://ift.tt/39CVShq Hi r/cardano, I would like to give operating a cardano node a shot before Shelley releases. My idea is to use a cloud server (AWS) to run it on rather than my own machine. I have some experience in programming, but I am having great trouble with figuring out how to get it running. For starters, from what I understand NixOS is not supported on AWS so I would use Debian instead? I have tried understanding the documentation on https://github.com/input-output-hk/cardano-node, but with little success. Is there a resource that simplifies the process or a guide that is not highly-technical? I want to use this process as a learning tool, not just for the end product of running a node, but it seems that my knowledge is below entry-level required to make the github documentation useful. Any advice appreciated. [link] [comments] via The home of Cardano https://ift.tt/3dK9uub Corona is a belief system based upon anxiety. Cardano is a belief system based upon freedom. [link] [comments] via The home of Cardano https://ift.tt/3bADmHK Hello everyone, For my first post in this sub, I chose to share with you my "awesome" new pool! It runs Jormungandr 0.8.16 on my Raspberry Pi 4, connected to Internet through FTTH. Since its energy consumption is very low, I keep it live 24/7. I have no website to promote it and, actually, I don't get the point of having one since Adapools and PoolTool provide every technical information needed. That's why I post it here! For now, It's not yet displayed on those two websites. I assume it is due to the fact that my pool informations have been merged with stakepool registry few hours ago, but it's clearly visible in Yoroï. So far, it's been able to stay updated with the testnet. For those interested about delegating to it, simply search for the tag RAOOL, and you'll find it. The tax fee is just a 3% ratio, no fix applied. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comment section. Note : The CF tutorial wasn't very clear, so for those interested in setting up a stakepool or just a node, I've been able to set it up thanks to this website https://www.organicdesign.com.br/Set_up_a_Cardano_staking_pool EDIT: Added network connection type. via The home of Cardano https://ift.tt/2UK50vd Hey all, I am aware of the saturation mechanism that Cardano has, in which people are incentivized to move their funds away from a pool with too much pledged ADA in order to receive higher returns with a pool with less pledged ADA. However, I am curious as to what mechanism Cardano has in place to defend against a single entity controlling many stake pools and centralizing the network that way, without oversaturating any single one of their stake pools. Thanks in advance, curious to see the answers. CardanoThe Cardano (ADA) network will perform a scheduled upgrade on Feb. 20 to introduce Ouroboros BFT, an improved consensus mechanism. The update is an intermediate step between the current Byron era and Shelley, which will introduce staking on mainnet. Archives |
