I came up recently with an idea about a dapp and I would be super happy to try create it on Cardano when smart contracts launch. However I have no idea of coding etc.
What is the procedure to find a programmer that you can trust to hire for it? Is there any formal route to suggest this idea to iohk or emurgo to consider it and, if they found it interesting, to create and launch it the moment they launch Goguen?

It may have been awhile since you've heard the altcoin Cardano come up in conversation. Cardano could be considered the conceptual love child of Ethereum and Bitcoin and it is an almost perfect mix of both. This is why Cardano could possibly outperform both Bitcoin and Ethereum.

What are your thoughts on Cardano and its potential?

The Hydra breakthrough is not specific to cardano but will benefit many other projects - Which projects are currently negotiating with IOHK for the Hydra Protocol?

I'm putting it out there since we don't know exactly how Voltaire is going to work.
Charles mentioned in one of his latest talks that if the community wanted IOHK to continue, they can extend IOHK. The question is...do we really have a choice?
We know that voting will determine funding and we also know that IOHK owns a large stake of ADA (rightfully so as developers). If IOHK owns lets say 30% of all ADA and it requires over 50% of all voted ADA to push through, with IOHK voting, it seems like the process is bias and almost a surefire way IOHK gets extended. I'm not against IOHK getting extended but it doesn't seem like a true democratic process in my mind. Should the person/entity be allowed to participate in voting if they themselves are up for vote? Please correct me if any assumptions are wrong and/or if there's some document to explain the whole voting process. thanks!

Because crypto-news sites are written by a bunch of lazy morons who have no clue what cryptocurrencies and blockchains are IOHK has made an effort to put everything in a single pic.

A call for the Cardano community to help shape IOHK’s ada wallet for the Shelley era.
Here's how you can get involved: ?
2) Find out how you can help make Daedalus the best it has ever been. ?
3) Use it and provide feedback! ✍️
Simple right? ✅

Okta is currently running their Oktane20 event and it's pretty awesome. I recall Mr. Hoskinson looking for event platform recommendations.

I don't know when the Testnet is ending but I'm guessing soon. Just wanted to see what every ones experience has been with this so far. Whether you operate a Stake pool or just stake ada like I do.
I'm not disappointed with the amount of ADA I've made off staking. It's not a ton based off current prices but it's free and I'll take it. It's been interesting though. This is the first project I've staked anything.

The Cardano (ADA) network will perform a scheduled upgrade on Feb. 20 to introduce Ouroboros BFT, an improved consensus mechanism. The update is an intermediate step between the current Byron era and Shelley, which will introduce staking on mainnet.
