I understand that LINK provides trustless data for smart contracts, but other than that I don't understand the relationship with Etherium all that well. From what I've seen, I am led to believe that LINK is traded as something like a sub-token of ETH therefore requiring ETH for gas. So, what happens if ETH no longer existed? I know this is a doomsday scenario that likely won't happen, but my inability to answer this question highlights my lack of knowledge pertaining to the relationship between the two. I would appreciate any explanation or resources that would enlighten me.
