This is what I responded:

In my work my one and only motivation is to leave the world better than I found it.

Current human institutions result in human caused pain and suffering. I view the DIF as kind of a conduit where newer more modern institutions (currently in a naissant phase) can interact with traditional institutions. I believe those more modern institutions will result in less human caused pain and suffering. That's how I want to leave the world better than I found it. I derive joy from watching progress being made to that goal.

So many people get excited when the price goes up. Please take some time to think about a broader context.
