Hey Tezos Community!
I hope this post finds y'all well and safe. There are certainly a lot of things going on in the Tezos ecosystem, so I wouldn't be surprised if this post doesn't get too much attention at the moment.
Nonetheless, I'll be making these quarterly summaries, which gather all the content (written, video, podcast, forum links) that is related to protocol R&D communications that our Team has been publishing during every quarter, in addition to a few other general developer & community development content.
This one is for Q1 2020 (January - end of March 2020).
Protocol Research & Development
Other Developer Communications
General Community Development
I hope this makes content more accessible for the ones who are interested. I would like to encourage other dev teams in the ecosystem to do periodic summaries of all the high quality content available, to make it easier to discover and access for the broader community.
Expect a Q2 2020 summary sometime at the beginning of July 2020.
That is all, there are many things in the works that I'm excited to talk about, so stay tuned and safe :-)

Before we perform any critical errors in our thinking, I would like to lay out a case. I'm eager to hear everyone's thoughts.
I believe the culprit in all of this is the Foundation. I will lay out my case. Feel free to disagree or comment.
First Arthur. All we currently know is that he was threatened, and that he did not necessarily want to have to step aside. Who is even in a position to threaten him? It sure isn't the community. Who would even want to? I can only think of one entity whose thoughts and feelings I cannot discern in this scenario. A person, or people within or associated with the foundation have to be pressuring him. Why? I don't know. What are they saying? Again, I don't know. But it seems like it can be no other group.
Second is Kathleen. Her project has VC backing. She has a fiduciary responsibility to produce. It is likely that the nature of this project (like basically all projects) has a life-span, and would expire if it had to endlessly wait for something or someone else to succeed. She gave us the reasons she cannot wait. Tezos wallets are garbage (true) and there is no stable coin (true). This should be interpreted as a wake-up up call to the foundation, not a crime by Kathleen. It would be wrong of her to fail in this project. Just like it would be wrong of the foundation to watch great projects--which WANT to use Tezos--be forced out due to lack of features.
The foundation is sitting on a 500 million dollar war chest of our money. Is the price of a working wallet more than 500 million? What about a stable coin built on Tezos, does that cost more than 500 million to produce?
Even though Ryan Jesperson likely had good intentions when he said "What are you doing to help Tezos?" I believe the time has come for us as a community to ask the foundation in a much MUCH louder voice: "What are you doing with the half a billion dollars of our money to help Tezos?"
So, foundation, are these things not true? What exactly are you doing to help Tezos? Who is threatening Arthur and how can you make things safe for the founders in your own organization? What are your plans to SWIFTLY rectify the problems preventing projects such as Emergents to be built on Tezos? I think we would all love to hear from Ryan Lackey, Kathleen and Arthur Breitman, and any other knowledgeable party during this--yet another--dramatic tale of Tezos.
To the Brietman's. There are plenty of us who are choosing to reserve judgement against you during this. We know you have believed in Tezos from the beginning, and it seems unlikely you would abandon it now. Please know the community is still the made up of the great people who followed you from the beginning.
The future for Tezos remains bright. Great things can and will definitely happen here. This community has had to walk some serious roads of adversity, and you don't do that without gaining a bit of wisdom along the way. The answer is simple. Lets find out who exactly is the bad actor here and eject them out the *metaphorical airlock. It has worked in the past and it will work again.
*Edit: I am not advocating anyone get physically ejected out of anything.

Tezos foundation been acting like child’s again.
Can we just vote out them from decision making? Burn their holdings out of the supply? Their ability to vote at least?
We don’t need them, the only thing that is useful is their 600M$ they have to fund development.
We could use the inflation to fund development, bitcoin cash had this tax problem because they didn’t have a democratic way to manage the treasury and they had to rely in a centralized company in hong kong. But we do have a descentralized way to manage the treasury funds, and fund development that way.

I set up staking a while back following this guide:
I created a KT and a TZ account using my Ledger & the Tezos command line client, but now I cannot figure out how to access them.
When attempting to import a new account into Ledger Live, these old accounts don't show up.
I've tried importing them into TezBox as well, with the default derivation path (and /0'/1'), to no avail.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I will admit, I've been buried in a side job (A friend asked for help driving routes for Fed Ex with the increase in activity.) and haven't been able to keep up with TF much as of the past month or so. I commented on another thread without knowing everything going on and was, rightfully, down-voted. I have spent my one day off chipping away at some information to see what all the commotion is about... and I'm left with more questions than answers.
I don't think it's feasible for the board to do a teleconference AMA on Reddit or anything. But, it would be nice to have some information answered. My question is, how can we get that from the board? How does the community put pressure on the board? Can we essentially do an AMA or essentially create a board of our own? A board or individual that is selected by the community to be in contact with TF? I understand they have a lot going on, but I don't understand the leverage we have as a community to get answers and insure that the TF Board still has the best interest of those who have invested in the project.
We keep requesting a "face of the board" to answer questions but who is the face of the community to ask them? How do we get the answers? How can we demand them?

Tezos is working on two CBDC application proposals: for both the Banque de France and the National Bank of Ukraine.
Hi, I contacted the email support, the screenshot is attached. It is a common error I am getting with the wallet. [email@example.com](mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org) suggested using the web wallet, but that didn't work either. it is a Ledger linked wallet. it has been over a week and I realise these are difficult times. Kindly guide me, for the same. Here is the blockchain explorer link verifying my balance: https://tzstats.com/tz1gzJwg3pA6oH2mpcDzv7HWqzFT7dytAVCi

When it rains it pours.
Arthur(u/murbard): If you are being threaten, I am sorry for the situation you are in. However, dropping comment bombs with little to no information is juvenile and obviously done to stir up the community. If there is an issue you need to address the community properly. If you cannot legally, then you need to say so. We shouldn't have to search reddit and twitter to piece together information and guess what is going on. You have been through a lot, but so has the community. We want to support you, but I cannot without any actual facts.
Kathleen(u/breitwoman): Not building Emergents on Tezos? Fine. Then don't mislead the community to think it is then randomly comment you are not tied to Tezos. You have had several opportunities to state this and finding out now is a slap to the face of the entire community.
Tezos Foundation: Come onnnnn......there is clearly a LOT of shit going on right now and the community needs someone to come out and clearly address these issues. Covid-19 has everyone glued to their phones and this is only getting worse. Stand up and address these issues. It will NOT just disappear. I don't want another wired magazine to add my Tezos memorabilia.
From all the ...just SHIT I've been through with Tezos....I am just so very very tired of this high school style drama. Please act like adults and stop allowing everyone to speculate.

On behalf of the Tezos community, I thank you both for creating the Tezos blockchain. Clearly not a lot of people understand it’s potential, and worse yet, a lot of people have no idea what they invest in, but for someone that does, I humbly thank you both.
Everyone wants to scream decentralization, but what can be more decentralized than the act of the founders taking a step back? That means the community can actually ‘take over’ (not as if they ever lost control but..), in a decentralized manner and let Tezos flourish over time. Let me ask the ignorant; is Bitcoin less successful because Satoshi decided to take a hands off approach? Exactly.
People clearly don’t know what they’re talking about here and are overly invested in things they don’t understand. Please ignore the rude, ignorant, and hateful comments that have been popping up on this forum and continue to focus on your priorities in life.
People attacking Kat for not guaranteeing Emergents being on the Tezos blockchain is simultaneously sad, pathetic, and pure comedy gold. Icing on the cake are the threats of “I’m not going to play your stupid card game”. It just goes to show how some (not all) the Tezos ‘investors’ in this forum really are.
Again, thank you both for everything and don’t stop improving not only your lives but the world around you. Looking forward to both of your future accomplishments!

Some posts have stirred some emotions lately about the Tezos Foundation and co-founder Arthur Breitman's official status within the project. Fine for people to have an opinion on those subjects, but besides critical thinkers and different viewpoints on these subjects, Tezos has had a ton of positive developments over the past year that deserve some attention too. So, to summarize:
We have seen and continue to see interest from very promising companies:
News from the past few months:
If you want more sources, Check this article.
In closing I want to say: stay critical, but let's move forward. Tezos is not about one or tow personalities that carry the brand. Tezos is in the hands of the community. Do your part and contribute in a constructive manner.

I was attempting to send Tezos to Coinbase Pro but forgot to undelegate them. I "sent" them according to my wallet and Coinbase shows a deposit but there is nothing in the balance (been almost 45 minutes). Have I lost them?

When I try to change my delegate using Galleon wallet, my Ledger Nano S asks me 'Unrecognized operation. Sign unverified?'. Why is that and is it safe to proceed? I am using Galleon Version 0.9.4-b on MacOs.
I tried with Tezbox wallet too and it's giving me 'Uh Oh! Delegation failed' error.

I have done a lot of googling but can't find any concise answer. People are saying - learn Michelson. No, learn Liquidity. Nono, learn Pytezos. Learn OCaml. Like, how can all of that be useful at the same time? Couple months ago I started with Ethereum. On their website I found many great articles, introductions, tutorials, a book called "Mastering Ethereum", which taught me pretty much everything. I learned solidity and now I can write smart contracts and dapps. Simple. What do I learn, and where, so that I can write useful stuff for Tezos? Also, it would be very useful if such info was possible to find, ideally on the Tezos website.
